A Few heros needed!!

My sister found a mama cat injured in her backyard and she needs your help! She really needs to get surgery and then she will need a loving home. Please tell all of your friends and family about this story and if anyone is interested in adopting her please contact 508.761.5617.

Please read the story below and make a donation - $5 - $10 - $20...whatever you can give would be greatly appreciated. I photographed her last week at the hospital and she's adorable and would be a great addition to anyones home.

**A Few Heroes Needed! ***

-Written by Mae Myers - FAAS Volunteer

In this world where everyday you hear horror stories of neglect and abuse of animals it is great to hear of people and animals that have heroic hearts and will go to any length to save a fellow creature.

This weekend a family discovered a cat and her kittens were living under their deck. At some point the mom was hit by a car, but dragged her body back to be with her little ones. One can only imagine the struggle she must have endured, but she knew they would not survive without her. It was later discovered that mom had a broken pelvis and ripped bladder. She is only one hero in this story.

The family who discovered them started to tear up their deck to get to them, another set of heroes. They called Carolyn Eaton, one of the Animal Control Officers at the Attleboro Animal Shelter. She immediately went over and set a trap to capture mom who was not about to leave her babies. Once caught Carolyn along with FAAS volunteer Angie McGrath found a foster home for the three, three week old kittens, another set of heroes.

Carolyn rushed the mom over to Central Veterinary Clinic and the staff operated on mom and repaired a two inch gash in a tiny three inch bladder and a pelvis which had two breaks. Their heroic effort saved her life.

As of now the kittens are doing well, being cared for by a heroic foster mom. Mom is on the mend, but not out of the woods. The family who found mom and the kittens has volunteered to pay for some of the Vet bills, but that could be well over a thousand dollars. FAAS, Friends of the Attleboro Animal Shelter is looking for a few more heroes to help pay the cost of the Mom’s treatment and care.

If you want to be a hero for Tourmaline, you can make a donation by mailing a check or money order to:
